9/27/11:  This District 5 United meeting was held on Tuesday, 9/27, from 630pm-8pm at the Alum Rock Youth Center (137 N White Rd.).
 
Everyone in East San Jose is welcome. Subway sandwiches and coffee will be provided at 615pm. The meeting will begin at 630pm and will end promptly at 8pm. The first 20 attendees will also receive great door prizes!

Land Use Survey results (from 121 community members) will be presented 4 days before they’re available to the general public online!

7/27/11:

The inaugural District 5 United public meeting was held on Wednesday, July 27th and was a huge success. Approximately 50 people attended. San Jose Deputy City Manager Norberto Dueñas, Santa Clara County District 2 Supervisor George Shirakawa, and Vanessa Flores (from Assembly District 23) presented budget updates. Gustavo Gonzalez presented our Education Survey results.

We had requested a grant from the San Jose District 5 Council Office and were notified that we will receive a $1200 grant. County District 2 Supervisor Shirakawa pledged at the 7/27/11 meeting that he will match the Council Office grant.
