According to Rod: District 5 is clearly a better place because of Kat Da Silva’s passion and tireless efforts for our neighborhoods!
Kat has combined her love of yoga and our community by establishing Root to Rise which offers affordable and accessible yoga for all bodies, levels, ages, lifestyles in Alum Rock Foothills/East San Jose. You can find Kat on any given Sunday at the Alum Rock Village Farmers Market either leading these enriching classes on her own or inviting many of the gifted yoga instructors in the local area.
Additionally, she also led community cleanups via ARVAC on multiple weekends around the Alum Rock/White Road area during the summer. She enlisted several volunteers to clean up this area in the hopes of establishing a better sense of pride in this heavily-trafficked and often litter-filled area.
Kat’s infectious smile, joyful enthusiasm, and desire to make our neighborhoods a better place for all certainly qualify her as a District 5 Hero/Heroine!
